Teaching

Currently I am teaching a third year architecture design studio at the New York City College of Technology (City Tech) and a lecture class in sustainability at the New York School of Interior Design (NYSID) in their graduate program. The third year studio class is focused on adaptive reuse. Our projects have included a Cass Gilbert designed former train station in the Bronx and the former Smallpox Hospital on Roosevelt Island. Both projects incorporate a hospitality program, adapting the building into a hostel. The students find a secondary program that will help bring potential guests to their hostel. The purpose of the studio is to explore adaptive reuse and to experiment with different approaches to reimagining these buildings in the next stage of their lives.
